The Pilates mat exercises revolve around principles of breath, core, concentration, fluidity, and control. The precision of the method re-educates neuromuscular patterns in the body to bring alignment to the joints, decompression to the spine, deep core strength, increased body awareness and improved posture. This class will accommodate beginning to intermediate students with a variety of modifications to suit either level. Every last Tuesday of the month the class will focus on the fundamental principles of Pilates. This will allow newcomers an opportunity to become comfortable with body concepts practiced in Pilates while also learning the choreography of the Pilates mat exercises as well. Reviewing the fundamental principles on the last Tuesday of each month will also give more advanced practitioners a chance to hone their skills and embrace the nuances and details so important to this method.
